About

Welcome! My name is Tara Pegram, or “Miss Tara” to my clients and their families. I am the founder and principal therapist for SpeakEZ, LLC. I attended Penn State University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders in 1995. I went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I moved cross-country to Arizona in June, 2001 and never left. I met my husband a few years later and we are now the proud parents of 2 girls, ages 11 and 6. While being a parent is life’s most precious and rewarding gift, I also understand the many challenges that comes with it. Navigating parenthood and advocating for children has positively influenced my therapy practice as well my relationships with the families.

I am a nationally certified and Arizona State licensed speech-language pathologist with almost 20 years of experience. I have specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders. In that time I have worked in a variety of settings that include: public school systems (preschool through middle-school), developmental preschool programs, an outpatient pediatric clinic, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, and home-based therapy. Working in those settings afforded me the opportunity to collaborate with talented multidisciplinary teams that included occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses/doctors, dentists, orthodontists, special educators, and the families of the clients. These experiences have taught me the importance of looking at the “whole” child and not just one specific area as they are all integrated with one another. My clinical knowledge and experience allow me to effectively identify, evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of communication, speech, language, social, oral motor/sensory integration, orofacial myofunctional disorders, and feeding/swallowing disorders. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, it is my not only my job, but also my passion to enhance early childhood speech and language development in a naturalistic environment. I find great joy in assisting children and their families reach their full potential.
